KTU CGPA to Percentage Calculator
If you were told KTU uses "CGPA × 10 − 2.5", that was true until mid-2023. Regulation R6.21 of the B.Tech 2019 scheme originally said the equivalent percentage is 10 × CGPA − 2.5, which put KTU graduates 2.5 points behind students of universities that simply multiply by ten. After representations from student organisations, the 23rd Academic Council amended R6.21, and U.O. No. 1584/2023/KTU (29 June 2023) made the rule % marks = CGPA × 10.
A month later U.O. No. 1867/2023/KTU (27 July 2023) applied the same CGPA × 10 conversion to the B.Tech 2015 scheme and to all students who have already graduated, with certificates under the new formula issued on request. So for any KTU B.Tech CGPA today, the calculator below uses one rule: multiply by 10.

The official KTU CGPA to percentage rule
Rules from the KTU B.Tech Regulations 2019, APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University:
- SGPA = Σ(Ci × GPi) / ΣCi over every course in that semester's curriculum. Failed and incomplete courses are included (with 0 grade points) — R6.21.
- CGPA uses the same formula over all courses up to that semester, failed courses included. For lateral-entry students the first- and second-semester credits are not counted.
- The 2 activity-point credits (R6.23) are required for the degree but are not counted in the CGPA.
- U.O. No. 1584/2023/KTU (29.06.2023) replaced the old conversion 10 × CGPA − 2.5 with 10 × CGPA for the 2019 scheme; U.O. No. 1867/2023/KTU (27.07.2023) applied CGPA × 10 to the 2015 scheme and to all graduates.

Worked example
For a CGPA of 7.84: 7.84 × 10 = 78.40%.
Going the other way, a target of 65% needs a CGPA of 6.5000, so you need at least 6.50 on your grade sheet.
