MG University CGPA to Percentage (CSS)
Clause 11 of Mahatma Gandhi University's Revised CSS Regulations states the conversion as a fraction: Equivalent Percentage = (CGPA obtained × 100) ÷ Maximum CGPA (= 10). On a ten-point scale that is simply CGPA × 10, so a CGPA of 7.46 is 74.6%.
The same clause says the formula is printed on the grade card itself, with a note that it can be used to convert grades into mark percentages — so the figure you get here is the one the university expects you to quote. The calculator also shows the grade band from the SGPA/CGPA to grade table, such as B+ for 7.0 to below 8.
These regulations apply to programmes in the university's own schools and centres (CSS). Affiliated-college programmes follow separate regulations, so check which scheme your grade card was issued under.
Grading under the CSS regulations is relative, so a percentage obtained this way expresses your position on the university's ten-point scale rather than the raw marks you scored. The lowest pass band, P at 4.0, converts to 40%, and the A band, starting at 8.0, to 80%.

The official MG University CGPA to percentage rule
Rules from the MGU Revised CSS Regulations (2016 admissions onwards) for PG programmes in the university schools, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam:
- Grading is relative on a ten-point scale (clause 8.6): O, A+, A, B+, B, C, P, F and Ab.
- SGPA = total credit points of the semester ÷ total credits; CGPA = Σ(SGPA × credits of each semester) ÷ Σ credits of all semesters (clause 11.2, 11.3).
- The CGPA formula is printed on the grade card with a note that it can be used to convert grades into mark percentages.
- A minimum SGPA in every semester does not guarantee the minimum CGPA for the programme.

Worked example
For a CGPA of 7.46: 7.46 × 100 / 10 = 74.60%.
Going the other way, a target of 60% needs a CGPA of 6.0000, so you need at least 6.00 on your grade sheet.
