DBATU SGPA & CGPA Calculator
DBATU's two-letter grades move in half points: EX 10, AA 9.5, AB 9, BB 8.5, BC 8, CC 7.5, CD 7, DD 6.5, DE 6 and EE 5, with FF (fail), XX and I at zero. They are awarded on a relative scale. Clause 3.6 of the university's first rules tells teachers to take the average mark of the students who passed (AM) and the highest mark (HM), give the AM itself a fixed grade — CD, CC or BB depending on whether it is below 60%, 60–69% or 70% and above — and split the ranges above and below into equal intervals. EX goes only to the top scorer, and only if that score is 80% or more.
That means the same 75 marks can be a BC in one subject and a BB in another. What stays fixed is the arithmetic: SGPA is Σ ci·gi / Σ ci over the semester, CGPA the same over everything since admission, both rounded to two decimals. An FF or I counts as zero until it is replaced.

How DBATU calculates SGPA and CGPA
Rules from the DBATU First Rules and Regulations (B.Tech), R1 clauses 3–4 and 12, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University, Lonere:
- Grades are relative: the teacher sets bands between the class average (AM), the highest mark (HM) and the 40% pass mark (clause 3.6). EX goes to the highest scorer only if that score is 80% or more.
- SGPA = Σ ci·gi / Σ ci over the semester; CGPA = the same weighted average over every subject since admission; both rounded to two decimals (clause 4).
- While an FF or I grade is pending, SGPA and CGPA are computed tentatively with 0 for it and recomputed once it is replaced (clause 4 d).
- The degree certificate carries no class; the class appears only in the grade reports.

Worked example
The SGPA example loaded above has 7 courses (4 credits at BB, 4 credits at AB, 3 credits at CC and so on) worth 20 credits and 172 credit points, so the SGPA is 172 ÷ 20 = 8.60.
For the CGPA, the example semesters (8.44 on 20 credits; 8.12 on 22 credits; 7.9 on 21 credits) give Σ(SGPA × credits) = 513.34 over 63 credits, so the CGPA is 8.15, which is 76.50% under Percentage of marks = (CGPA − 0.5) × 10.
