FSU's non-law scale is in quarter points: an A- is 3.75, not 3.67 or 3.7. The bulletin lists separate third-point values (3.67, 3.33 and so on) for the College of Law only. This calculator uses the university-wide values.

Leave out P, S, U, I and NG. They carry no quality points. An expired incomplete (IE) counts as 0.00.
How your FSU GPA is calculated
GPA = total quality points ÷ total graded credit hours, where quality points for a course = grade points × credit hours. For a new cumulative GPA: (current GPA × hours so far + this term’s quality points) ÷ (hours so far + this term’s graded hours).
Repeated courses
The FSU bulletin says: "Students may repeat courses in which they received a grade of 'D' or 'F.' Both the original and repeat grades will be used in the computation of GPA". It also notes that FSU discontinued its forgiveness policy in Fall 2004.

Total: 40.25 quality points ÷ 13 hours = 3.096 semester GPA. If the student already had a 3.20 GPA over 45 hours, the new cumulative GPA would be (144 + 40.25) ÷ (45 + 13) = 3.177.
