RGPV CGPA to Percentage Calculator
RGPV prints the conversion on the final grade sheet itself. Clause 5.9 of Ordinance No. 4(C) says the last semester's grade sheet shall show the CGPA, the equivalent percentage marks and the division, and clause 7.2 gives the rule: percentage marks scored = CGPA obtained × 10. A CGPA of 7.34 is therefore 73.4%.
The division is based on the CGPA, not on the percentage: CGPA ≥ 7.5 is First Division with Distinction, 6.5 up to 7.5 First Division, and 5.0 up to 6.5 Second Division. The ordinance also allows a grace of 0.01 CGPA, on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, for a candidate who misses distinction or first division by exactly 0.01 (clause 6.3).

Since the minimum CGPA for the degree is 5.0, the lowest percentage an RGPV B.Tech graduate under this ordinance can show is 50%. Second Division spans 50% to just under 65%, First Division 65% to just under 75%, and distinction starts at 75%. The ordinance covers students admitted to the first year in or after July 2017.

The official RGPV CGPA to percentage rule
Rules from the RGPV Ordinance No. 4(C), B.Tech (admitted July 2017 onwards, CBCS), Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya:
- SGPA = Σ ci·pi / Σ ci over the subjects of the semester (clause 5.8).
- CGPA = Σ SGj·NCj / Σ NCj, where SGj is the SGPA and NCj the total credits of semester j (clause 5.8).
- Credits earned through MOOCs are not included in SGPA or CGPA.
- Minimum grade D is needed in each subject and separately in the end-semester theory and practical; a CGPA of 5.0 is needed for the degree (clauses 4.2, 4.3). A 0.01 CGPA deficiency can be condoned in the cases listed in clause 6.

Worked example
For a CGPA of 7.34: 7.34 × 10 = 73.40%.
Going the other way, a target of 65% needs a CGPA of 6.5000, so you need at least 6.50 on your grade sheet.
