Bangladesh CGPA Calculator (UGC 4.00 Scale)
Bangladesh’s University Grants Commission (UGC) introduced a uniform grading system on a 4.00 scale. Most public and private universities, and the National University, use it. Marks of 80% and above earn A+ (4.00), 75–79 A (3.75), 70–74 A− (3.50), 65–69 B+ (3.25), 60–64 B (3.00), 55–59 B− (2.75), 50–54 C+ (2.50), 45–49 C (2.25), 40–44 D (2.00) and below 40 F (0.00). Enter each course’s marks or letter grade with its credit hours.
CGPA = Σ(grade point × credit hours) ÷ Σ credit hours over all courses attempted. Failed courses count as 0.00 until they are retaken. After a successful retake, most universities replace the F with the new grade. Labs and half-credit courses are weighted by their own credits, for example 1.5 or 0.75.
Worked example: 82 (A+, 3 credits), B+ (3), 71 (A−, 3), 76 (A, 2) and an A+ lab (1.5) give 45.75 ÷ 12.5 = 3.66. A few universities publish their own scale; if yours does, use its table.
