IPU CGPA to Percentage Calculator
For current GGSIPU results the answer is in the last line of clause 13 of Ordinance 11: "The CGPA × 10 shall be deemed equivalent to percentage of marks obtained by the student." A CGPA of 8.25 is therefore 82.5%, and a first-division CGPA of 6.50 corresponds to 65%.
Older IPU mark sheets show a CPI (cumulative performance index) instead of a CGPA, and that often causes confusion because CPI looks like a percentage already. It is: the Examination Division's notice of 13 January 2023 (Ref. GGSIPU/Exam/2023/6893) states that the CPI awarded by the university shall be treated as equivalent to percentage. Do not multiply a CPI by ten.
Pick the kind of figure on your result in the calculator. For a CGPA you get the × 10 percentage and the Ordinance 11 division; the reverse tool gives the CGPA needed for a target percentage such as 60% or 70%.
The division bands in the same clause translate directly: Third Division, starting at a CGPA of 4.00, is 40%; Second Division at 5.00 is 50%; and First Division at 6.50 is 65%.

The official GGSIPU CGPA to percentage rule
Rules from the GGSIPU Ordinance 11, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University:
- Marks out of 100 (teacher's continuous evaluation + term-end exam) are converted to a letter grade (clause 11.5). P (4) is the passing grade unless the scheme says otherwise; grades below the passing grade carry 0.
- SGPA = Σ(Ci × Gi) / ΣCi for the semester and CGPA = ΣΣ(Cni × Gni) / ΣΣCni over all semesters, both rounded to two decimals (clause 13).
- Audit papers are not counted in SGPA or CGPA.
- Clause 13: CGPA × 10 is deemed equivalent to the percentage of marks. For older CPI-based results, the examination division's notice of 13.01.2023 states that the CPI itself is treated as the percentage.

Worked example
For a CGPA of 8.25: 8.25 × 10 = 82.50%.
Going the other way, a target of 75% needs a CGPA of 7.5000, so you need at least 7.50 on your grade sheet.
