AKTU CGPA to Percentage Calculator
AKTU does not multiply by ten. Clause 15 of the B.Tech ordinance sets the conversion as Percentage = (CGPA − 0.75) × 10, so every AKTU percentage is 7.5 points below its CGPA × 10 figure. The ordinance even gives the worked example: (8.66 − 0.75) × 10 = 79.1%. A CGPA of 7.5 therefore converts to 67.5%, and you need a CGPA of 6.75 to reach 60%.
That gap matters when a job or admission form asks for a percentage with a hard cut-off. Many recruiters ask for 60% or 65% aggregate; under AKTU's formula those need CGPAs of 6.75 and 7.25. Division is decided on CGPA, not on the converted percentage: 7.5 and above with all subjects cleared in a single attempt is First Division with Distinction, 6.5 up to 7.5 is First Division and 5.0 up to 6.5 is Second Division. The calculator shows the band next to your percentage.

The official AKTU CGPA to percentage rule
Rules from the AKTU B.Tech Ordinance 2018-19, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow:
- SGPA (Si) = Σ(Ci × Gi) / ΣCi over the courses of the semester, expressed to two decimals (clause 14.4 a).
- YGPA = (SGPA odd × credits odd + SGPA even × credits even) / (credits odd + credits even) — the yearly figure on the grade sheet (clause 14.4 b).
- CGPA = Σ(Ci × Si) / ΣCi where Si is each semester's SGPA and Ci that semester's total credits, rounded to two decimals at the end of the last semester (clause 14.4 c, d).
- A semester is passed only with E or better in every subject and an SGPA of at least 5.0 (clause 10.3).

Worked example
For a CGPA of 8.66: (8.66 − 0.75) × 10 = 79.10%.
Going the other way, a target of 60% needs a CGPA of 6.7500, so you need at least 6.75 on your grade sheet.
