NIT Kurukshetra CGPA to Percentage
NIT Kurukshetra uses a multiplier of 9, not 10. The note at the foot of the institute's certificate on grade points, CGPA and percentage (Ref. Acad/24/218, signed by the Deputy Registrar, Academic, on 6 February 2024) reads: "The Percentage of marks obtained by a student be calculated as = CGPA multiplied by 9.00."
The difference is not small. An 8.5 CGPA is 76.5% at NIT Kurukshetra, where a × 10 university would print 85%. To show 60% you need a CGPA of about 6.67, and 75% needs 8.34. If a form asks for your percentage, quote the institute's figure and, if possible, attach the certificate, because many recruiters assume × 10 by default.

Because the institute's grade points are A+ 10, A 9, B 8, C 6 and D 4, a student with B in every course has a CGPA of 8.00, which the × 9 rule turns into 72%. A perfect 10 converts to 90%.

The official NIT Kurukshetra CGPA to percentage rule
Rules from the NIT Kurukshetra grade point and CGPA certificate (Ref. Acad/24/218, 06.02.2024), National Institute of Technology Kurukshetra:
- CGPA = Σ CiGi / Σ Ci, the credit-weighted average of all grades, where Ci is the credits of the i-th course and Gi the grade point of its letter grade.
- Only six letter grades are used and the points are not evenly spaced: after B (8) comes C (6) and then D (4). There is no 7 or 5.
- An F must be cleared in the re-appear examination.
- The institute's certificate states: the percentage of marks shall be calculated as CGPA multiplied by 9.00.

Worked example
For a CGPA of 8.5: 8.5 × 9 = 76.50%.
Going the other way, a target of 60% needs a CGPA of 6.6667, so you need at least 6.67 on your grade sheet.
