PTU CGPA to Percentage Calculator (IKGPTU)
I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University changed its conversion factor in 2020. The 52nd Academic Council (Agenda 52.05, 16 January 2020) and the 72nd Board of Governors (Agenda 72.07, 23 January 2020) approved a multiplier of 10 "instead of 9.5" for converting CGPA to percentage, and the Registrar's notification applies it to all IKGPTU students passing out from the April/May 2020 examination session onwards.
So the year you passed out decides the number. A CGPA of 7.8 is 78% for a 2020-or-later graduate and 74.1% for someone who finished earlier under the 9.5 factor. Choose your batch in the calculator before quoting the figure on a form.
For reference, the page also lists IKGPTU's letter grades (O = 10 down to P = 4) with the absolute-grading marks bands used for small classes. Larger classes are graded relatively, and the university's SGPA weights internal and end-semester grade points separately, so this page does not attempt an SGPA calculation.
The notification was forwarded to all heads of department and the constituent campuses for implementation.

The official IKGPTU CGPA to percentage rule
Rules from the IKGPTU Choice Based System (2016) and 2020 multiplier notification, I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University:
- IKGPTU's notification implementing the 52nd Academic Council (Agenda 52.05, 16 January 2020) and the 72nd Board of Governors (Agenda 72.07, 23 January 2020) makes the multiplier 10 "instead of 9.5" for all students passing out from the April/May 2020 examination session onwards.
- Letter grades O, A+, A, B+, B, C, P and F carry 10 to 4 and 0 points (Table 1 of the 2016 Choice Based System).
- The marks bands shown are the absolute-grading table (Table 4), used for classes of fewer than 30 students; larger classes are graded relatively on the mean and standard deviation (Table 5), and the boundaries may be marginally adjusted.
- IKGPTU's SGPA weights internal and end-semester grade points separately, so a simple letter-grade SGPA calculator does not reproduce it; this page covers the percentage conversion only.

For a CGPA of 7.8: 7.8 × 10 = 78.00%.
Going the other way, a target of 60% needs a CGPA of 6.0000, so you need at least 6.00 on your grade sheet.
