Dalhousie GPA Calculator (4.3 Scale)
Dalhousie University uses a 4.3 grade point scale: an A+ (90–100%) is worth 4.30 and an F (below 50%) is worth 0. Enter each course as a final percentage or a letter grade, with its credit hours (usually 3). The calculator converts each grade with Dal’s published scale and gives your credit-weighted GPA.
Dal’s C+ band is 65–69% and its C− band is 55–59%, so the cut-offs differ from Ontario 12-point schools. There is no D+ or D−: everything from 50 to 54% is a D (1.00). Special grades such as W (withdrew after the deadline), ILL, P (pass) and CR (credit) are GPA neutral, so leave them out.
Default example: 86% (A, 4.00), 74% (B, 3.00), B+ (3.30), 68% (C+, 2.30) and 81% (A−, 3.70), each worth 3 credit hours. That gives 48.9 grade points over 15 credit hours, a GPA of 3.26, just under a B+ average.
